The traffic division has jurisdiction over Vehicle Code violations, some local municipal ordinances, infractions, and minor misdemeanors.

The Jury Division is responsible for summoning prospective jurors for both civil and criminal cases where the parties have elected to have a jury of their peers decide the case.

The Merced and Los Banos clerks offices will be closed early on Friday, 12-15-17 for staff training. The Merced and Juvenile Clerk’s Offices will be closed at 11:00am, while the Los Banos courthouse will be closed at 10:00am. Court documents may be deposited in the court drop-boxes located in Merced at 627 West 21st Street, 2260 “N” Street, 720 West 20th Street. There is also a drop box located at the Los Banos courthouse near the parking lot. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, 12-18-17.
